Fire Awareness

Rick, along with Heath SNT's Sam, assisted with an fire-themed stall at the Eastbrookend Country Park today.

The joint Barking & Dagenham Council (LBBD), London Fire Brigade (LFB) and Barking & Dagenham Police initiative aimed to promote awareness around fires, with an emphasis on the risks of "disposable barbecues, cigarettes and glass bottles."

Since 2023, the team have removed 33 glass bottles from the ward's open spaces to limit opportunities for fires to start (May-August).

Over the coming weeks, more events will be taking place across the borough's parks to help prevent grassfires like those recently seen in Parsloes Park and Beam Valley.
